Case Study 1: International Cost Benchmark Review (October 2014)

MSP independently benchmarked the costs of trading, clearing and settlement in 18 different global markets against costs in Australia. The report was commissioned by 10 market participants in preparation for a consultation about the possibility of allowing competition in clearing in Australia. The report provided context of different market structures and detail around clearing and risk management models.

Case Study 2: European Commission Study on improving the market performance of business information services regarding listed SMEs

MSP was the lead financial markets expert in a consortium that was selected to provide an evidence-oriented study based on substantive field research in addition to desk research. The study analysed the industry for the provision of commercial business information services and followed the sequence of:

The aim of this report is to promote a wider understanding of the current state of the European equity market and its evolution which has brought us to the present status quo. It explains why, in the context of this evolution, there is less reason for knee jerk reaction and more time needed for a considered response to certain developments of the market and why perhaps other more fundamental issues should be addressed.
